This morning I met Jody and Harper at his new school so we could get aquainted with his future teacher and classroom. He starts on Tuesday and will be going 8-5 M-F! It's going to be a major adjustment.
Normally, Mimi takes care of him during the day and he's home. However, Mimi had a really good opportunity come her way, so she's going to give it a shot.
Harper has most recently been in a two year old Mother's Day out program at the church near our house. But honestly, we didn't care for the director of the program, so we didn't enroll him for the fall. But that program is just two days a week... I'm really curious how H is going to handle going five days in a row.
He surprised both of us when we got there. The school had hooked up some sprinkler in the outdoor play area and all the kids were running around in swim trunks and having a blast. The first thing H said was, "I want to play in the sprinkler!" So we're definitely off to a good start.
We talked to Miss Kelly, the head teacher of his class. Now, he's going from a two year old class to a Pre-K class. She said he won't be the youngest one. The kids' ages are from 3-5. So that was a big relief.
He was excited to see a train table in his classroom and we had to pry him away from it when it was time to go.
I hope he's this excited about it on Tuesday when I drop him off. It may be a different story when both Mommy and Daddy aren't standing right there. Fingers crossed and prayers to God that it's a smooth transition!
